A Simple Tool to Help You Practice Gratitude In Challenging Times

With everything that’s happening in the world right now, practicing gratitude is more important than ever. And, while this is the case, you may be finding it harder than ever to count your blessings.

For me, I noticed this less than a week ago. Normally, I relish all of my life, including the difficult moments, as I recognize these and welcome them with gratitude as opportunities to grow and expand. But, the other day, as I was sitting on my couch, I noticed I had lost a piece of my true truth and had fallen into a bit of a rut. Simply put, I felt stuck.

For me, this looked a lot like tunnel vision. There is so much good happening in my life right now, but at that moment, all I could focus on was what wasn’t working. This was understandable, as truthfully, I wasn’t doing a great job of managing my energy with what’s been going on in the world, and I was letting that dictate my everyday experience.

But I know I can’t help the world, if, like a bad car wreck that you can’t take your eyes off of, I’m getting sucked into it.

So, as I sat there, what came to me in that moment was that I had fallen into a pattern that most of us are guilty of at one point (and usually, many points :)) in our lives – I was using my present day reality to dictate what I believed to be true in my life and, really, to dictate what I believed to be true about my future.

But, you see, any Law of Attraction or Consciousness Expert will tell you that believing it, and even deeper, that feeling it, comes before seeing it. Unfortunately, though, I had forgotten this. Instead, I had put on these narrow glasses and because I wasn’t seeing all of the good in my world at that moment, and really seeing what I had to be grateful for, including all of the possibilities, it didn’t feel possible.

That is, until this tool came through, and I saw, heard and felt it as clear as day.

“Deb – You know what’s possible, so expand your vision and start seeing that.”

Oh my goodness! When it hit me, I couldn’t believe I had slipped out of this crucial practice.

What did this awareness look like?

I started to widen my vision. Instead of seeing where I was in that moment, I started to experience a life and world that I’ve been shown many times – a life full of love, abundance, trust and peace. And, I didn’t just see it, I felt it. The best way I can describe the feeling of it was that it was like going from trying to see down a dark tunnel that I couldn’t see the end of to seeing that it actually wasn’t a tunnel at all, but a sun-filled rose garden full of an abundance of magic, beauty and light, if I would just put on my glasses.

So, it is with the start of the holiday season that I share this tool with you. I know, for many, the holidays can be a beautiful time of year, but they can also be hard. If you fall into the latter, I invite you to see all of the good and to widen your vision just a little bit to bigger possibilities.

Sending much gratitude and love to you for a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday and beyond. I am truly grateful to have you as part of my community!
